Tiger Eye Garnet and Sterling Silver Pendant Necklace

$85.40

Tiger Eye Garnet and Sterling Silver Pendant Necklace - I chose this Tiger Eye gemstone cabochon due to its pretty triangular shape and brilliant shine with variations of color tones including deep brown, gold and just a hint of evergreen. I topped it off with a faceted deep red garnet.

Tiger Eye is a ancient talisman, mysterious and powerful, revered and feared - an “all-seeing all-knowing eye,” thought to grant a wearer the ability to observe everything, even through closed doors. The Egyptians chose Tiger's Eye for the eyes in their deity statues to express divine vision, and it was believed to provide the protection of the sun and earth combined, of Ra, the sun god and Geb, god of the growing land. Linked to the magical tiger, the king of beasts in Eastern mythology, Tiger’s Eye portrayed courage, integrity and right use of power. Roman soldiers carried it to deflect weapons and to be brave in battle. It has been highly regarded throughout history as a stone of prosperity and good fortune, protecting one’s resources and reflecting back malice or threats from others

These gemstones are set in sterling silver on a heavy, 18 gauge silver backplate which I hand stamped. The sterling silver has been lightly antiqued/oxidized, buffed by hand, and tumbled for hours to achieve incredible strength, shine, and a lovely rustic patina.

The pendant measures nearly 2" in length (49.4mm) , including the bail and approximately 1 1/2" (38.55mm) in width.  The pendant hangs from an oxidized 16" 1.6mm solid sterling silver curb chain.
