Ocean Jasper, Spiny Oyster and Sterling Silver Bracelet Ocean Jasper, also known as orbicular jasper, is a unique type of jasper found primarily in Madgascar, along the coast. It's characterized by its striking, orb-like patterns or inclusions within a jasper base. The orbs in this particular jasper have shades of orange, against its forest green background. I have set this beautiful gemstone in a pretty scalloped shaped bezel, and I have sawed its back plate in an abstract shape. I have added a few "orbs" of sterling silver granules to the backplate, pounded flat for interest.
Two lengths of handmade, oval chain hand crafted from thick, 14g sterling silver wire are attached to the Ocean Jasper focal with three-each gorgeous Spiny Oyster Beads. The myriad of colors in these Spiny Oyster beads perfectly complement the golden orbs in the focal.
The sterling silver has been darkened with patina, then polished by hand to achieve a soft gray, matte finish. This adjustable bracelet measures 8 3/4" in length and closes securely with a sterling silver lobster clasp, which fastens to any of the links on the opposing side of the chain. As stated, this bracelet is adjustable and fits wrists with a diameter up to 7 3/4".
