Sterling Silver Tear Drop Earrings- These lovely earrings are entirely handcrafted from solid, sterling silver sheet metal, to which I have reticulated. Sterling Silver is comprised of various degrees of fine silver and copper. Reticulation is a process of heating and cooling the metal several times, melting the silver and bringing it to the surface. This process creates an amazing texture that can never be duplicated. It's amazing to watch the silver take its new form.
Once reticulated, I have hand cut the metal into tear drop shapes, and added sterling silver ear wires. The silver has been darkened and polished by hand to bring out the texture and create the amazing patina.
These one of a kind, never-go-out-of-style earrings are to be enjoyed for years to come!
These lightweight earrings measure 1 5/8" in length from the top of the hand forged ear wire to the bottom of the tear drop.
All metals used in this design are sterling silver.
Jewelry is made using traditional metalworking techniques, including soldering, filing, sanding, texturing, polishing, and tumbling in my home studio. Jewelry comes wrapped in a cotton-lined gift box and ships quickly. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
