Artisan Dichroic Glass and Sterling Silver Necklace

Artisan Dichroic Glass and Sterling Silver Necklace - This is such a beautiful Dichroic Glass Cabochon, by artist Mikelene Reusse.  It's one of those stones that changes colors with the light - a beautiful irridescent sheen with flashes of golds, greens, and lavender shimmer from within the glass. I wanted to somehow mimic the flash in the cabochon in the sterling silver - so I textured the back plate with a drill. A single, tiny handmade rose, which I forged from sterling silver, and two little granules complete the design.

I did not want the pendant to flip when worn, so I have two separate lengths of 4.8mm round cable chain attached to each side of the pendant. It hangs 24" in length, and closes securely with a nice size, sterling silver lobster clasp.  The pendant itself measures just under 2" in length, by 1 1/'2" in width. I have polished the sterling silver to a high shine to further complement the flash within the glass cabochon.

All metals used in this design are .925 sterling silver, and all rings have been soldered closed.

Jewelry is made using traditional metalworking techniques, including soldering, filing, sanding, texturing, polishing, and tumbling in my home studio.  Jewelry comes wrapped in a cotton-lined gift box and ships quickly.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

NOTE:  100% of the proceeds from the sale of these earrings will be donated to Miracle Horse Rescue, a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping me help those who cannot help themselves!
