Etched Copper and Blue Chalcedony Earrings

Etched Copper and Blue Chalcedony Earrings - I love texture, and yet another way to bring texture to jewelry is through etching. I etched a piece of copper and hand cut two diamond shapes, and set two tiny brass eyelets into the top and bottom. These eyelets present a nice, clean finish to the otherwise bare holes in the copper. The copper was oxidized, buffed by hand, and tumbled for hours for an incredible strength, sheen, and yet still achieved a rustic patina. Two 8mm translucent Blue Chalcedony gemstones were wrapped in sterling silver to dangle from the bottom eyelet. It was hard to capture this beautiful light blue color in my photos! Keeping with the theme of diamonds, two tiny sterling silver beads sit atop the gemstones.

These are very lightweight earrings, comfortable to wear all day. They measure approximately 2" in length, and hang from my hand forged, sterling silver ear wires.

Jewelry is made using traditional metalworking techniques, including soldering, filing, sanding, texturing, polishing, and tumbling in my home studio. Jewelry comes wrapped in a cotton-lined gift box and ships quickly. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

NOTE: 100% of the proceeds from the sale of these earrings will be donated to Miracle Horse Rescue, a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping me help those who cannot help themselves!
