Sonoran Lime Turquoise and Gold Fill Necklace and Earrings Set - Sonoran Lime Turquoise is a vibrant, striking variety of turquoise first discovered in 2021 in the Cananea mining region of Sonora, Mexico. This necklace features these gorgeous turquoise beads, each one hand knotted on silk, which I have paired with a sprinkling of Gold Filled (GF) Beads. The drape of a hand knotted necklace is unmatched - soft and silky! The turquoise beads range in size from 4mm - 5mm, and the necklace fastens securely with a generously sized GF lobster clasp. This is a "go-to", classic style turquoise necklace! A pair of coordinating earrings are included with this listing, made entirely of Gold Fill elements measuring approximately 1 1/8" in length from the top of the ear wire to the bottom of the drop.

This beautiful hand knotted turquoise necklace measures approximately 17 1/2" in length.

Please be sure to zoom in on the photos to see the details of these fabulous gemstones up close and personal.

All metals used in this design are 14/20 Gold Fill.

A note about Gold Fill vs. Gold Plated Jewelry

GOLD FILL JEWELRY AND FINDINGS construction involves a thick sheet of solid gold (such as 14k or 12k) mechanically and permanently bonded to a core base metal using extreme heat and pressure. The amount of this precious metal must legally contain at least 5% (1/20th or more) solid gold by weight in the US. The Gold Fill elements are extremely durable and resists peeling, flaking, or heavy tarnishing, and can often be worn daily for decades.

GOLD PLATED JEWELRY AND FINDINGS construction involves a microscopic, ultra-thin layer of gold is chemically applied to a base metal (like brass, copper, or steel) via electroplating. The precious metal content contains less than 0.05% actual gold—often measured in microscopic microns. Depending on how often the Gold Plated Elements touch water, sweat, lotions, or friction, this thin layer of gold easily scratches, chips, or wears away to reveal the base metal underneath, effecting its durability.

Jewelry is made using traditional metalworking techniques, including soldering, filing, sanding, texturing, polishing, and tumbling in my home studio. Jewelry comes securely wrapped in a cotton-lined gift box or satin bag and ships quickly. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
