Boulder Ribbon Turquoise and Sterling Silver Statement Necklace

in: Necklace

Boulder Ribbon Turquoise and Sterling Silver Statement Necklace- Originally discovered in the 1970's by a herder who stumbled upon a vein of turquoise on the hillside, Ribbon Turquoise is from the Boulder Turquoise mine in northeast Nevada.  My appreciation goes to the stone cutter on this 34 carat stone - the multiple veins of turquoise clinging to its host rock gets me every time! In fact, these veins resembled running waterfalls to me --- so I topped the cabochon with a handcrafted double layer "mountain" embellishment. Sterling silver beads surround the balance of the pendant. The silver has been darkened and polished to bring out the highlights.

The pendant measures just under 2 1/2" in length (62 mm) and 1 1/4" (30.8 mm) at its widest point.  The pendant hangs from an 18" length,  3mm wide black braided leather cord, which fastens securely with a sterling silver lobster clasp. The bail on this pendant is wide enough to change out the leather cord and hang the pendant from your own chain, if desired.
