Yungai Turquoise and Onyx Three Stone Sterling Silver Pendant Yungai Turquoise, also known as Cloud Mountain, hails from the Yungai mine in Hubei Province, China. Interestingly, this mine was in operation since the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907 AD), until it closed permanently in the 1990's. Yungai Turquoise is highly sought after for its gorgeous blues with a dark black matrix pattern.
For this necklace, the Yungai Turquoise serves as the center piece of this pendant, flanked with two black onyx ovals. Each stone is set in sterling silver with connections of soldered sterling silver rings. This connection allows for independent movement of each stone when the pendant is worn. The sterling silver has been darkened and polished to acquire a beautiful, rustic patina.
This one of a kind statement pendant measures just under 2 3/4 "in length and is just over 3/4" in width at its widest point. A gorgeous, 18", 2.5 mm sterling silver wheat chain - oxidized and hand polished - is included in this listing.
This necklace is neither too light nor too heavy, weighing in at 44 grams, or just under 1/2 ounce - but the setting truly makes this a one of a kind, statement necklace.
