Natural White Buffalo Turquoise and Sterling Silver Pendant

in: Necklace

Natural White Buffalo Turquoise and Sterling Silver Pendant  My first siting of this Natural White Buffalo Turquoise was when I was trolling the internet late one night a few years ago, while struggling with insomnia. I had never heard of White Turquoise - and was totally smitten with the natural inclusions perfectly melded with the white background.  Research has told me that it is found in only one mine worldwide, the Dry Creek Mine in Nevada. The mine is located on the Shoshone Indian Reservation near Battle Mountain. ... It is said that its name comes from Native Americans in the area, who believe that the stone "is as rare as a white buffalo. So , yeah - I was sold!

This 9 carat, Natural White Buffalo Turquoise has been set in sterling silver. Each tiny little silver flower surrounding the bezel was handmade by me, and soldered on for added dimension and texture. The sterling silver has been polished by hand, patinated to black, and tumbled for hours to achieve the rustic patina.

The pendant measures 1 1/4" in length by 7/8" in width, and hangs from a 24" simple, black leather chain, which closes securely with a sterling silver, lobster-style clasp.

All metals used in this design are .925 sterling silver.

Jewelry is made using traditional metalworking techniques, including soldering, filing, sanding, texturing, polishing, and tumbling in my home studio.  Jewelry comes wrapped in a cotton-lined gift box and ships quickly.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

NOTE:  100% of the proceeds from the sale of these earrings will be donated to Miracle Horse Rescue, a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping me help those who cannot help themselves!
