Kyanite Necklace Set with Silver and Gold Accents -  These faceted kyanite beads possess a most striking shade of blue - a cross between sapphire and denim!  The facets absolutely sparkle! These 4mm kyanite beads are interspersed with 14/20 Gold Fill (GF) Beads and matte finished sterling silver beads in a pretty, symmetrical design. I fabricated the kyanite pendant with a 14/20 GF bezel, and surrounded this with sterling silver beaded wire.  These mixed metals of silver and gold pair beautifully with the kyanite! I am including a pair of coordinating faceted kyanite earrings with this listing,  accented with the same sterling silver and 14/20 GF beads used in the necklace design. The earrings measure just under 1 1/2" in length the top of the ear wire to the bottom of the drop.

This beautiful kyanite necklace measures 19 1/2" in length and closes securely with a lobster clasp. The mixed metal kyanite pendant measures just under 1" wide and 1 1/2" in length from the top of the bail to the bottom of the pendant.

Please be sure to zoom in on the photos to see the details of these fabulous gemstones up close and personal.

All metals used in this design are 14/20 Gold Fill.

A note about Gold Fill vs. Gold Plated Jewelry

GOLD FILL JEWELRY AND FINDINGS construction involves a thick sheet of solid gold (such as 14k or 12k) mechanically and permanently bonded to a core base metal using extreme heat and pressure. The amount of this precious metal must legally contain at least 5% (1/20th or more) solid gold by weight in the US. The Gold Fill elements are extremely durable and resists peeling, flaking, or heavy tarnishing, and can often be worn daily for decades.

GOLD PLATED JEWELRY AND FINDINGS construction involves a microscopic, ultra-thin layer of gold is chemically applied to a base metal (like brass, copper, or steel) via electroplating. The precious metal content contains less than 0.05% actual gold—often measured in microscopic microns. Depending on how often the Gold Plated Elements touch water, sweat, lotions, or friction, this thin layer of gold easily scratches, chips, or wears away to reveal the base metal underneath, effecting its durability.

Jewelry is made using traditional metalworking techniques, including soldering, filing, sanding, texturing, polishing, and tumbling in my home studio. Jewelry comes securely wrapped in a cotton-lined gift box or satin bag and ships quickly. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
