Faceted Emerald and Sterling Silver Ring

in: Rings

Faceted Emerald and Sterling Silver Ring  As the birthstone for May, the emerald, a symbol of rebirth, is believed to grant the owner foresight, good fortune, and youth. This is a beautifully faceted emerald, which I have bezeled in sterling silver, and surrounded with a halo of sterling silver granules atop a tear drop shape back plate. The ring shank is fashioned from textured silver. I darkened the silver, and polished it by hand to not only augment all the silver embellishments on the ring and its shank, but also to give the sterling a beautiful, rustic patina.

This one of a kind faceted emerald ring measures between US Size 6 1/2 and 6 3/4, and the sterling silver setting measures 30.1mm x 22.8mm at its widest point (or 1 1/8 inches x 7/8 inches).

All metals used in this design are .925 sterling silver.
