Copper and Sterling Silver Viking Knit Bracelet

in: Bracelet

Copper and Sterling Silver Viking Knit Bracelet-  I have always been enamored with the ancient art form of Viking Knit, whereby chains are formed by weaving fine wire into a loop in loop technique. This labor intensive technique yields a fabulously flexible chain. I have added two cones to either ends of the chain, which I made from solid copper tubing and sheet metal. Two, intricately detailed, hand crafted sterling silver beads from Bali, Indonesia accentuates the mixed metals in this copper and silver bracelet, along with 4 rope style discs beads, also from Bali.  The chain terminates with a textured copper, artisan charm and sterling silver flower charm, also made in Bali. The bracelet fastens securely with a copper lobster style clasp.

The metals have been darkened and polished by hand to achieve a gorgeous, rustic patina. This mixed metal bracelet would look fabulous flying solo on the wrist, or stacked with other bracelets.

The adjustable bracelet measures  7 1/2" in length (not including the 1/2" extender chain), with an inside diameter ranging from 6 1/2" to just over 7" round. Please zoom in on the photos to see all the beautiful textures, up close and personal!

All elements of this bracelet were artisan made, except for the copper lobster clasp.

Metals utilized are solid copper and .925 sterling silver.

Jewelry is made using traditional metalworking techniques, including soldering, filing, sanding, texturing, polishing, and tumbling in my home studio. Jewelry comes wrapped in a cotton-lined gift box and ships quickly. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
