Sterling Silver and Aqua Nueva Agate Pendant Necklace- About this gemstone: Petrified wood is not actually wood, but it begins that way. The wood goes through a special fossilization process that replaces each wood cell with a gem mineral. The result is a gorgeous gem representation of the original wood structure - rings, bark, and all. This particular cabochon has been expertly cut by the lapidary artist into a crescent shape
The black and white crescent cabochon has been set with a beautiful sterling silver flame-cut bezel. A solar eclipse was on my calendar when I made this pendant, putting me in a Celestial mood. So I added a 3-D star to the back plate, which I crafted from Fine Silver. The sterling silver has been darkened, and polished by hand to reveal a beautifully matte patina.

This beautiful, one of a kind pendant measures just over 1 3/4" in length from the top of the bails to the bottom of the crescent shape. The pendant hangs from an 18", sterling silver 2.8 mm oval rolo chain, which I have darkened with patina and polished by hand.
All metals used in this design are .925 sterling silver.
Jewelry is made using traditional metalworking techniques, including soldering, filing, sanding, texturing, polishing, and tumbling in my home studio. Jewelry comes wrapped in a cotton-lined gift box and ships quickly. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
