Boulder Ribbon Turquoise and Sterling silver Necklace- Originally discovered in the 1970's by a herder who stumbled upon a vein of turquoise on the hillside, Ribbon Turquoise is from the Boulder Turquoise mine in northeast Nevada. Cudos to the stone cutter on this 9.9 carat stone - that vein of turquoise clinging to its host rock gets me every time! I have bezel set this turquoise in fine silver, and crafted a double layer sterling silver embellishment to the top of the cabochon. The silver has been darkened and polished to bring out the highlights.
The pendant measures just over 1 1/2" in length (39.8mm) and hangs from an 18" sterling silver oval cable chain, which fastens securely with a sterling silver lobster clasp.
Please be sure to zoom in on the photos to see the details of this necklace up close and personal.
All metals used in this design are .925 sterling silver and .999 fine silver.
