14K GF and Sterling Silver Drop Earrings- I love mixing metals in jewelry! These drop earrings feature roll-printed sterling silver, with hand cut 14K GF (Gold Fill) Rings. The GF rings have been hammered, adding a bit of texture - and a bit of shine when worn, too! The sterling silver has been darkened with patina, and hand polished to a matte gray finish. These lightweight earrings have no dress code - wear with jeans or that special black outfit!
These two tone 14K GF and Sterling Silver drops measure 1 1/2" in length from the top of the GF ear wire to the bottom of the earring.
Please zoom in on the pictures to see the details of these lovely two toned earrings up close and personal!
All metals used in these earrings 14K GF and .925 sterling silver.
A Note about Gold Fill vs. Gold Plated Jewelry: Gold-filled jewelry has a thicker layer of gold that's bonded to the base metal, while gold-plated jewelry has a thinner layer of gold that's electroplated onto the base metal. Gold-filled jewelry must contain at least 5% gold, while gold-plated jewelry can contain any amount of gold, but it's usually very thin. Gold-filled jewelry can be cleaned with a cloth and mild soapy solution, but you should not scrub the finish.
Jewelry is made using traditional metalworking techniques, including soldering, filing, sanding, texturing, polishing, and tumbling in my home studio. Jewelry comes wrapped in a cotton-lined gift box and ships quickly. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
