Sterling Silver Viking Knit Bracelet

in: Bracelet

Sterling Silver Viking Knit BraceletI have always been enamored with the ancient art form of Viking Knit, whereby chains are formed by weaving fine wire into a loop in loop technique. This labor intensive technique yields a fabulously flexible chain. I have added two cones to either ends of the chain, which I made from sterling silver tubing and sheet metal. This listing includes a single hollow bead. This bead began as a sheet of sterling silver, hand cut, textured, domed, soldered, and sanded, and polished. Handcrafted sterling silver beads from Bali, Indonesia complete this all-sterling silver design.

The handmade 1/2" extension chain chain terminates with another beautiful bead from Bali, heavily textured with a leaf design. The bracelet fastens securely with a nice size (19mm in length), sterling silver lobster style clasp. The sterling silver has been darkened and polished by hand to achieve a gorgeous, rustic patina. This bracelet would look fabulous flying solo on the wrist, or stacked with other bracelets.

The adjustable bracelet measures  8 1/8" in length (not including the 1/2" extender chain), with an inside diameter to ranging from 6 3/4" to 7 1/4" round.

All elements of this bracelet were artisan made, except for the sterling silver lobster clasp. Please zoom in on the photos to see all the beautiful textures, up close and personal!

All metal utilized in this design are .925 sterling sterling silver.

Jewelry is made using traditional metalworking techniques, including soldering, filing, sanding, texturing, polishing, and tumbling in my home studio. Jewelry comes wrapped in a cotton-lined gift box and ships quickly. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
