Sterling Silver and Turquoise Necklace with 22K Gold Accent

in: Necklace

Sterling Silver and Turquoise Necklace with 22K Gold Accent- The most beautiful shades of green with a rich, golden brown matrix can be found in this King Turquoise cabochon, mined in southern Colorado near Manassa. I have set this turquoise in sterling silver in a modified shadow-box setting atop a highly textured backplate. I added my version of the sun to the top of the pendant, with a large, 22K gold orb in the center of the rays.  I wanted a rustic setting, so I have darkened the metal, and polished the sides and back, and kept the background with a dark, black finish.

The pendant measures approximately 2 7/8 inches in length, from the top of the bail, and is approximately 1 inch in width at its widest point. The necklace hangs from an 18" length, 3mm width braided leather cord, which fastens securely with a sterling silver lobster clasp.

All metals used in this  necklace are .925 sterling silver and 22K Gold.
